How are NECDS being developed?

Under the NECS/LIXI agreement, each jurisdiction can become a member of LIXI in its own right. Currently all States and Territories, with the exception of Victoria and Queensland, are members of LIXI.

The NECS/LIXI agreement specifies that a Management Group sits between the LIXI Board and a Working Group. The National Electronic Conveyancing Data Standards Management Group (Management Group) consists of 10 members: two from LIXI, one from the National Office and seven appointed by the National Office. The role of the Management Group is to specify the scope and priorities of the project and to oversee the National Electronic Conveyancing Data Standards Working Group (Working Group).

The Working Group has been established by LIXI and is open to all members of LIXI. It works collaboratively in developing draft data standards. The standards developed will be authorised for publication and distribution by the Management Group and the LIXI Board.
