LAND REGISTRY PERSPECTIVE

The land title dealings and related instruments needed to register changes in property ownership and interests will be electronically lodged via NECS with the relevant State and Territory land registry.

The information received by the land registries will be exceptionally high quality, having been thoroughly vetted by rigorous business rules and certified as complying with statutory requirements by a regulated legal or conveyancing practitioner.

As a result, the need for requisitions to obtain additional information or clarifications will be greatly reduced, and the prospects for automated registration to achieve straight-through-processing (STP) will be excellent.
