The Property Registration Authority of Ireland recently hosted an international conference in Dublin on land registration. Entitled Registering the World, it attracted over 200 delegates from land administrations all over the world. Details can be found at www.prai.ie.

There was a major focus on international developments in electronic conveyancing. Executive Director of the National Office, Simon Libbis, was invited to speak at the conference about the Australian position. The presentation and paper are on our website.

A preliminary event to the conference was a briefing to the local Irish conveyancing industry entitled E-Conveyancing and E-Registration in the common law world – A Discussion Forum. Australia was among seven countries invited to participate. The National Business Model for NECS as explained by Simon Libbis attracted a lot of interest.
