NECS is being collaboratively developed by government and industry through the following governance framework:
• a National Steering Committee to oversee the NECS initiative• a National Electronic Conveyancing Office to support the National Steering Committee• a National Project Team to make recommendations to the National Steering Committee• State Project Teams to provide jurisdictional input and prepare for NECS• Stakeholder Consultation with government and industry. • Council of Australian Governments to establish the entity and provide funding.More detailed information on the governance provisions for the development and implementation of NECS is available in the National Governance Arrangements, which forms part of the NECS Roadmap. This document was developed in close consultation with key stakeholders.
It is anticipated that when developed, NECS will be governed by a public company, NECS Ltd, owned in equal shares by the States and Territories and managed in close cooperation with major industry stakeholders. More information on NECS Ltd is available at Ongoing Governance Arrangements.
