Why NECDS?

For NECS to operate successfully, it is critical that National Electronic Conveyancing Data Standards (NECDS) be developed and implemented for all electronic communications between the system and its users.

A key feature of the NECS National Business Model, NECDS will:

• provide a common standard for NECS-related data transfers across Australia, ensuring that all NECS users have the same understanding of the particular data item being exchanged

• allow all States and Territories to communicate electronically with one another via NECS, without the need to alter their individual back-end systems.
